Aligners are a great tool, but they are just that. First comes diagnosis. Just like when planning a restoration, diagnostic data for clear aligner therapy needs to be collected and analyzed. Identification of simple to complex movements is required to identify the level of complexity and if a clinician wishes to treat those issues. Almost more important than anything else is identifying patient expectations and how to deliver more than those expectations. In some instances, it might be better to refer out.
